Honda Inverter Generator EU22I 

Thanks to its larger and more powerful motor, the new Honda EU 22i now delivers 2.2 kW of maximum power, 10 percent more electricity with almost unchanged dimensions and weight. 

The new 120 cm³ engine runs at a lower speed than its smaller predecessor. This makes it more economical and with a guaranteed sound pressure level of only 90db(A), operation of the Honda EU 22i is virtually silent. The engine and electronics are fully enclosed in the soundproof housing. This protects the components and minimises noise generation. 

The fuel tank holds 3.6 litres - the same as the predecessor model. The built-in eco-shift adapts the engine speed exactly to the respective load requirement. This saves gasoline, reduces noise and protects the engine when maximum power is not needed. A switch on the control panel can be used to select between eco mode and maximum power.

The unladen weight is 21.1 kg. Thanks to its large carrying handle, the mobile power generator can be transported comfortably and easily by hand. The external dimensions correspond to those of the predecessor model.

The new design of the fuel tap makes it easier to prepare the machine for transport and possible storage. By selecting the appropriate position on the main engine switch, the fuel supply can be turned off while the engine is still running. This allows the gasoline in the carburettor to be used up until the engine stops. Draining the carburettor in this way before transport and storage helps to avoid problems such as the carburettor gumming up with stale gasoline and makes it easier to start when the generator is needed again.

Parallel operation

Parallel operation is possible with all identical Honda inverter generators. Since the electrical output power is electronically controlled, two identical models can be coupled and synchronised using special cables available from Honda as accessories. Both generators will then function as a matched unit, delivering twice the electrical output of the individual unit for more demanding applications. Two Honda EU 22i portable generators coupled in this way can deliver up to 3.6 kW of extremely stable sinusoidal power. The Honda EU 22i also has the proven, unregulated 12-volt output with 8.3A charging current. With an optional adapter cable, it is thus ideally suited for fast charging batteries directly from the generator.

Easier maintenance

The required change of engine oil every 100 operating hours increases the service life and is easier and cleaner than before on the Honda EU 22i. To reduce the risk of overflowing when changing engine oil, the rubber gutter for draining the oil pan has been extended, and thanks to the significantly larger diameter of the filler neck, filling is now easier and possible directly from the can.

As before, protection against damage due to low engine oil level is ensured by an oil low switch which simply switches off the Honda EU 22i when the oil level is too low and prevents a restart.
